Announcing a new Meetup for Kayak Classes and Trips for Beginners!!
What: Skip work and Shoot the Hooch, the Metro Hooch that is. No boat, no problem!
When: August 14, 2009 11:00 AM
Where:
CRNRA Paces Mill Park
4005 Cobb Pkwy
Atlanta, GA 30328
We will meet at the take out at CRNRA Paces Mill and then shuttle up to Powers Island.
Everyone will wear a PFD, if you bring a white water boat, I recommend helmet and spray skirt. A light lunch and plenty of water is a good idea. We will stop along the way to eat.
If you have not paddled this section before, it has several nice play rapids, class I and little II's, depending on the water level. It is only about 2.5 miles but we make the trip last several hours. If you are in a hurry, this is not a trip for you!
If you do not have a boat, and you want to try this section, call me and I can bring a rental boat for you to use. Cost of a boat, paddle and PFD delivered is $45.00.
