Announcing a new Meetup for Kayak Classes and Trips for Beginners!!

49 of us did this trip on August 2nd. We had so much fun some of us are going again.
If you have never been down a river with big rapids in a raft you have missed a real thrill. We will be paddling both the Upper and the Middle Sections of the Ocoee.
The upper section (the Olympic Course) of the Ocoee is closed to commercial rafters after labor day weekend so this could be your last chance to paddle it this year! Don't miss out, sign up early.
This is suitable for families or singles, we will assign boats accordingly, but this is important, CHILDREN MUST BE AT LEAST 12 YEARS OLD, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
To the trip!
It is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive from Lawrenceville to the outfitters. Approximately 2 hours from the Marietta area.
We will meet at the outfitters NO LATER THAN 9:30 on Sunday August 30th. We are trying to get the boats on the water close to 11:00. It is important that you be early, rather than late! We will be on the water approximately 4 1/2 hours. We will be running rapids up to Class V.
Lunch is included and will be served on the side of the river. You will have a choice of hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers or chicken. (Everyone on the last trip had nothing but good things to say about the food. Cooked fresh on the grill by the river)
You will need to wear something that dries fast, you will get wet, very wet, 100% guaranteed! The water is not cold, dress accordingly. No sandals, you must have good water shoes that will not come off if you decide to swim one of the rapids. I am sure some of you will do just that. Bring dry clothes, it is a long way back Home with wet clothes.
There will be six (6) paddlers AND A PROFESSIONAL GUIDE IN EACH BOAT.
