Dear UCR Volunteer,

We need your help from now thru September 10th! You can help us win $20,000 to monitor inner city streams if you vote for Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper each day at www.50statesforgood.com. You can also help by forwarding this email to your friends!

UCR is one of 41 nationwide finalists in the Tom's of Maine "50 States for Good" contest, a national initiative to support the goodness behind grassroots community projects. Five organizations will share in the $100,000 sponsorship fund. If UCR wins, $20,000 will go to our Neighborhood Water Watch program, specifically to test water quality in order to identify problems and stop pollution in inner-city neighborhood streams.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: All you have to do is click on the link below, scroll to find Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper's name, and cast your vote. Please vote once a day from now though September 10 and help make metro Atlanta's streams cleaner and safer and its communities healthier!

Protecting Atlanta's Communities
UCR's newest monitoring program is Neighborhood Water Watch, a collaborative program between UCR and neighborhood groups in our watershed with the goal of improving water quality in urban streams and protecting human health in the surrounding communities. Many of the streams flowing through metro Atlanta neighborhoods and into the Chattahoochee River are polluted with high levels of bacteria due to cracked and overflowing sewers, failing septic systems, and urban runoff.

You can help us expand this program with your online vote for Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Together, we can stop this public health threat and restore our streams . Learn more here.

Please Vote and Spread the Word!
In this nationwide contest, every vote helps. Please forward this email and encourage others to vote.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Sally Bethea
