This river will have some class II rapids, if you have taken my course you are good to go. If you have not taken the course, you need to call and talk to me before you are accepted on this trip.
I have a limited number of rental boats available to bring on this trip. If you need a rental, please call me.

We are paddling about 12.5 miles. This trip takes about 4 hours of continuous but casual paddling, so I'm guessing that with a lunch break, plus eddying, and playing in the rapids, it will take us between 5 and 6 hours.
The very first section will contain about 45 minutes of continuous slow moving water with no rapids. Then the river will alternate between slow current and small shoals in the class I/borderline II nature. The last two sets of rapids, which both occur after the river divides around islands, will contain one class II that is fairly straight forward put fairly long, and the last rapid is a II+ narrowing that is similar in nature to the Horse Shoe rapid on the Upper Hooch, though far smaller and easier. This last rapid can be easily portaged (and ran several times, if one is inclined to do so). Then we have another 45 minutes of slow moving water to the take out in down town Franklin at the Riverside Park.
We will meet at the take out in downtown Franklin at the Riverside Park boat ramp at 10 am right next to the bridge. The put in is difficult to find, and it would be easy to get lost for those who haven't been there before. Just to be clear, this section would be a tough paddle for a whitewater boat. Crossover whitewater/rec kayaks, rec kayaks, canoes would work best on this paddle.
This section is scenic, there is usually lots of wildlife. It's also great for fishing.
While on the river, we will be fairly isolated and away from roads for most of the trip, so be sure and pack plenty of water, snacks, and other essentials.
